This is not your typical family orthodontic office. Everything in our office has been meticulously designed around the adult patient experience – obtaining a beautiful smile as an adult has never been easier.

After you have completed your smile elevation, you will be well on your way to living your best life!

As a new patient, you have the ability to schedule your first appointment and complete all initial paperwork online prior to your first visit; we designed it this way to decrease the amount of time you have to take out of your already busy day. Once you arrive at office, the first hour of parking is free – just take a mental note of your license plate number, and stop by the machine as you walk up the stairs to our office (free parking was important to us in deciding our location, because we HATE paying to park, and we figure you do too!)

Inside, you will find an incredibly happy and welcoming team! The reception area design has a modern and inviting setup, with an urbanistic café vibe (very non-dental). Side Note: We run on time, so you won’t be here long, but you can stay and enjoy the space as long as you want! After you have checked in, make sure to see who provided the “Smiles of the Day” at the beverage center. We try to use local vendors for coffee and snacks as much possible; we really believe in supporting our local community, and luckily, their drinks and snacks are easy to enjoy!

Around the corner, we have a toothbrush station for you to brush up before your procedure. We’ve found this makes everyone feel more comfortable and having this station before you head back for your appointment is convenient for all of us!

The next part of the experience will be taking records. We will use a state-of-the-art intraoral scanner to create an exact, digital model of your teeth. We’ll also take a few of pictures, along with a couple of x-rays, to ensure we are addressing, and fixing, the underlying issue(s), ensuring quality care throughout the process to your elevated smile!

After gathering the necessary information, you will be directed to our “collaboration room.” This room has been created as a space that promotes the conversation about what it means to truly elevate yourself (it doesn’t even have a typical dental chair, so trust me when I tell you that this is a place like no other)! Once we have clearly defined your goals, Dr. Brice will come in and discuss how we will work together to elevate your smile.

You have taken the first step to elevate yourself by showing up today, so clearly, today is a great day to make a very important, positive change in your life! We will show you all the treatment options, and you can choose which one you feel is the best fit. If INVISALIGN or INBRACE is your treatment choice, you are done for now; Dr. Brice will work very hard behind the scenes to ensure you have a fully customized and individualized treatment. You will come back in a couple of weeks to begin your active phase of treatment!!! You will officially be on your way to an elevated smile! If you chose one of the other options, whether traditional metal, ceramic (tooth color), or champagne colored brackets, we will start the active phase of treatment right then!

Starting the active phase of treatment typically takes about 30-60 minutes to complete. Our office has an open bay design to help minimize the time that you’re in the chair; it helps us de-clutter, as everything is easily accessible, and it also promotes contagious smiles, because, like Zac Efron sings, “we’re all in this together,” right? But don’t worry, if you’re shy, or just want things a little more private, we offer private rooms, because this experience is all about YOU!

So now, treatment has started, and it’s important to address the question everyone has,“how will they feel?” …my answer: “different!” LOL! Our mouths have the ability to detect the smallest changes, so the first couple of hours will be the most unique. Over the first 3 days you will experience a sensation similar to the feeling you get after you have worked out for the first time in a while. You know that feeling of, “oh yeah, this is progress” (maybe followed by “why the heck am I doing this?!”). Remember, just like the progression of your body when you commit to working out, it’s a process, and the end result will be AMAZING! The first couple days will be the most intense, so we suggest you try to stay in your normal eating and social routine, as much as possible, to help you acclimate quickly.

You are well on your way to elevating your smile. Every ~4 to 8 weeks you will stop by the office for an adjustment appointment; this is typically less than 30 minutes. We want to ensure everything is moving according to plan and we are successfully on our way to achieving your end goal! This is also a great time to talk about your experience, ask any questions you may have, and just feel loved and supported through this journey!

Dr. Brice is a big proponent for “managing expectations,” so along the way, he will keep you abreast with an updated completion timeline. We want to not only meet your expectations, but exceed them! So, if you’re one of those people who wore braces for 4 years as a teen (I apologize on behalf of your orthodontist), know that this won’t be the case at Elevation Orthodontics. We will work hard to ensure you’re in treatment as little time as possible to achieve your goals, efficaciously. At the end of treatment, we clean up your teeth (if you had brackets on them), get you a retainer (which you MUST wear at night, and we will explain the ‘why’ to drive home the importance of this), and take the “after” pics.

We are located in the WeWork building in East Nashville directly behind Edley’s BBQ and a couple of blocks from Historic Five Points.
